You’re never too old to teach English as a foreign language. In fact, what better teacher is there than someone with decades of work and life experience?

It might take you longer to get hired but as long as you are a fluent English speaker and TEFL qualified, and focus on countries where you are eligible to work legally you can have a very successful teaching career.

Getting the correct work visa to teach abroad in countries such as China or Japan in your 50’s+ can be a challenge as local labor laws would see this as a retirement age, which is also an important aspect of their culture.

For inspiration, read interviews with Premier TEFL graduates like Andrew in Hong Kong and fun-loving Monique who taught in Cambodia.
