About this course

The course is divided into five modules. Each lesson is subdivided into bite size learning blocks which include reflective tasks and interactive progress quizzes.

You will complete one written end of course assessment.

After you complete this qualification in teaching other subjects through English you will understand the ideas behind Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). You’ll learn skills for teaching non-language subjects through the medium of English and be confident to take on more versatile teaching roles.

60 hours of Level 5 CLIL teacher training will teach you the strategies for classroom management and planning effective lessons. But more importantly – it will help you to understand how teaching topic-based English classes can be so valuable for learners since they use their new vocabulary immediately, appreciate its relevance, and are more engaged in the learning process.

How can being qualified as a CLIL teacher help me?

Level 5 certified CLIL English teachers can benefit from being qualified for a wider range of TEFL job opportunities.

As a CLIL teacher you are more versatile and that makes you more attractive to hiring managers. Being CLIL certified can result in a better salary package or fewer face-to-face teaching hours on your schedule.

In other words, a CLIL teacher might teach science subjects through the medium of English.

Do I need to have previous TEFL training to become a CLIL teacher?

I have recently completed the 18-0 hour Diploma course and the 10 hour classroom methodologies course. I can fully recommend these courses... to anyone looking for a TEFL certification, the information is comprehensive and the level of support thus far has been exemplary. Michelle Benson is the course instructor for the 10 hour classroom methodologies course and she in particular has been a delight. her class was not only very helpful but really engaging and so much fun that the students have started a whats app group to stay in touch.read more
