About this course

The course is divided into five modules. Each lesson is subdivided into bite-size learning blocks which include reflective tasks and interactive progress quizzes.

You will complete one written end-of-course assessment.

After you complete this qualification in teaching other subjects through English you will understand the ideas behind Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). You’ll learn skills for teaching non-language subjects through the medium of English and be confident to take on more versatile teaching roles.

60 hours of Level 5 TEFL CLIL teacher training will teach you the strategies for classroom management and planning effective lessons. But more importantly – it will help you to understand how teaching topic-based English classes can be so valuable for learners since they use their new vocabulary immediately, appreciate its relevance, and are more engaged in the learning process.

What does teaching CLIL mean?

Teaching CLIL, which is often explained in TEFL as teaching English through other subjects, is an approach to teaching where the English language is used as a tool to teach a non-linguistic subject such as maths, biology or technology.

In other words, a CLIL teacher might teach science subjects through the medium of English.

Do I need to have previous TEFL training to become a CLIL teacher?

This was a great course. Clear and concisely delivered. The module where we we had to speak an obscure language was enlightening. It really... helped me understand how disorienting it is to be faced with a language you don't know.Breaks were given at the right intervals and length - just when your brain gets overloaded and then able to go again.Learnt loads with Michelleread more
