- Indonesia: IDR 15–20M starting, with housing commonly provided and savings of US$500–800/month.

Europe: break even, live well, stack income
No European market in this report offers Gulf-style packages; housing is on you, and EU citizenship (or a programme visa) is the gateway. The pattern across all nine markets: base salaries hover near local living costs, and teachers who earn well do it by stacking business English, private tutoring and online work.
- Germany pays the most: €1,500–2,200 net freelance, with universities and international schools at €3,000–4,800 — but most teachers are freelancers covering their own health insurance (€200–350/month).
- Spain: academies pay €1,000–1,600; the government's NALCAP/Auxiliares stipend is €800–1,000/month tax-free with insurance for 14 hours/week — low pay, but the light timetable makes Spain Europe's best income-stacking base.

- A degree — where it's legally required. In most of Asia and the Gulf it's a visa condition, not a preference. No degree? The realistic map is Cambodia, plus language centres in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Costa Rica.
- Specialisation — business English (€23–50/hour in Europe), exam prep (US$25–40/hour online) and young learners command the premium bands in nearly every market.
