Before you start your exciting new life in Taiwan, you’ll be completely prepared for the classroom with our 240 hour TEFL Expert Course. Including five professional courses; not only will you be a fully qualified TEFL teacher, and be licensed to prepare students for the important IELTS and TOEIC tests. You’ll also specialize in Teaching Young Learners, which is essential for this internship.
On arrival you’ll enjoy airport pickup and spend your first 10 days in Taipei on teacher’s orientation. Get to know fellow TEFL teachers, build your confidence through practical teacher-training workshops, brush up on cultural tips for life in Taiwan and enjoy a spot of sightseeing. Before you go, you’ll have an application form to fill out, a video chat, submit all your documents and then you’ll be on your way.
On arrival at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), you’ll enjoy airport pickup from our in-country team.
You’ll typically teach for between 22 – 26 hours of face-to-face teaching on a Monday – Saturday schedule. During class time you will aim to improve your students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Students’ age ranges from three to 16 years old. You’ll have up to 15 hours for preparation and school activities each week, and in-class help from co-teachers.
Any support you need for activity planning will be on hand from your teaching colleagues. Professional development training sessions throughout the year will keep you on track to teaching-stardom.
Teaching placements are in language schools, normally at least two teachers are placed per institute. And you’ll often be placed close to other English teachers at nearby schools.
Friends and couples are welcome to apply, we recommend applying early as placement together is based on availability.
After you settle in, you will spend 12 months teaching in one of our stunning placements throughout Taiwan.
