FAQs for Ordering a Hard Copy TEFL Certificate
If you’ve recently completed a TEFL course with us, you might be eager to receive your hard copy certificate. While digital certificates are usually available immediately upon course completion, a printed version may be preferred for job applications, visa applications, or personal records. Please note this is not the option for the Level 5 Ofqual certificate. This option is for the 120-hour course, 30-hour courses, 10-hour Virtual course or Teaching Practicum certs only. To make the process easier, we’ve compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about ordering a hard copy TEFL certificate.
Do I automatically get a hard copy TEFL certificate?
No, you’ll receive a digital PDF certificate upon completion of the course, which will be available for download on your learning platform. Ordering a printed hard copy is optional.
How do I order a hard copy TEFL certificate?
Once you’ve successfully completed your course, you can order a physical certificate from us by:
- Logging into your student account on our website.
- Going to the “Courses” dropdown and under “TEFL Shop” select “Order Certificates“.
- Choosing the postage option that best suits you: Standard Post, Registered Post, or Courier.
- Adding your choice to the cart and completing checkout by filling in your details.
How long does it take to receive a hard copy certificate?
Processing times depend on your location and the shipping method you choose:
- Standard Post: Ireland & UK within 1 week, Europe up to 3 weeks & Rest of the World up to 4 weeks. With this option, there is no tracking number available for your document(s).
- Registered Post: Delivery estimates are the same as with standard post but with this option, there will be a tracking number sent so you can track your document(s).
- Courier: Delivery within 2-5 days after mailing. Please note, orders placed after 11 AM on Wednesday will be processed the following week from our Irish headquarters via DHL. Once dispatched, you will receive a tracking number to follow your certificate’s journey.
How much does a hard copy certificate cost?
The cost depends on the shipping method you have chosen and the amount of certificates you are ordering:
- Standard Post: 1 Pack: €25, 2 Pack: €30, 3 Pack: €35, 4 Pack: €40, 5 Pack: €45
- Registered Post: 1 Pack: €35, 2 Pack: €40, 3 Pack: €45, 4 Pack: €50, 5 Pack: €55
- Courier: Ireland: €65, Great Britain (UK): €105, Rest of the World: €110
What if my name is misspelled on the certificate?
If you notice a mistake on your digital certificate before ordering the hard copy, contact us immediately. Corrections are typically made free of charge. Once a hard copy has been printed, reprinting may incur an additional fee.
Can I request multiple hard copies?
Yes. You can order additional copies, though each extra copy has a separate printing and shipping fee. Please email hello@tefl.ie to specify which certificates you would like printed.
What if my certificate is lost or damaged in the mail?
If your certificate is lost or damaged during shipping, contact us with your order details. We will usually issue a replacement, though shipping costs may apply.
Do employers accept digital certificates?
Digital certificates are widely accepted. However, some employers, especially those hiring abroad, may prefer a hard copy for verification purposes. Having a printed certificate ensures you are ready for any situation.
Is the hard copy certificate internationally recognized?
Yes. Our TEFL certificates are recognized worldwide. A hard copy serves as tangible proof of your qualification, which is particularly useful for visa applications or teaching positions in countries where digital verification is less common.
Can I track my hard copy certificate shipment?
Yes. If you choose the Registered Post or Courier delivery option, we will provide a tracking number once your certificate is dispatched, allowing you to monitor its progress. Please note that Standard Post does not include tracking.
