Questions and Answers

How much can I earn as a Business English teacher?

Generally speaking, Business English teachers make between $30 – $50 per hour. This depends on experience and expertise.

Some freelance Business English teachers charge upwards of $100 per hour for very niche or specialist lessons.

While it might seem like a lot at first, it often means the difference between winning an international contract with a new client or getting a promotion. Which, in context, is a small investment considering the opportunity.

I just completed the 10-hour Virtual TEFL Course and am on a high! Our tutor, Michelle Benson, was enthusiastic and informative and... involved everyone in the lessons, building a good rapport and making the whole experience fun and engaging. The course is well structured with lots of interaction, giving those who are a little shy or nervous about talking in front of others more confidence. I found the teaching practice stage and feedback invaluable. I recommend this course for teaching practice, lesson planning, tutoring and peer motivation. My confidence has improved thanks to this course, and I can't wait to teach my first student. Thank you, Michelle!read more

As someone with no prior experience in teaching, the two-day 10 hour TEFL classroom methodologies course made me more confident in planning... lessons and knowing what to teach students at different levels. The instructor, Michelle Benson, gave a well structured course that covered a lot of important topics. We had to plan a short lesson on the second day, and Michelle gave us very great feedback and what was good and what we can improve on. I would recommend this to anyone who is starting out in teaching English.read more
