Hey! My name is Aman Bhardwaj, I’m 23 years old. I’m from India. I consider myself an ambitious, driven, and compassionate person. I have been living in Spain for around 2 years now. What drew me here was the Spanish culture and curiosity to know the different things about the country. My goal was always to put myself into the unknown so that I could know myself more and that’s what happened when I came here. It’s been a beautiful journey.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER PATH IN SPAIN, AND IF IT HAS VARIED OVER TIME.
Since I came here, I have been teaching in High schools and giving some private tuition which has been an astounding experience that nobody can take away from me but I have been working on different things on the side. I have been learning Sales, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. In the long run, I want to be an Entrepreneur and I have been working hard to pursue that. There’s a saying “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job”. This has been my philosophy. If you get better everything gets better for you and that’s how you can give more value to others. This mindset has been really helpful for me to have amazing success in my teaching journey.
YOU HAVE BEEN TEACHING FOR OVER A YEAR, AND HAVE RECENTLY COMPLETED YOUR LEVEL 5 TEFL COURSE. DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DRAW FROM YOUR COURSE EXPERIENCES REGULARLY IN THE CLASSROOM?
The Premier TEFL course has been really helpful for me. It has not only improved my overall communication skills but also given me specialized knowledge of Lesson Planning, Teaching Methodology, Language Awareness, Teaching Practice, Cultural Awareness, Professional Development, and so on. I have been able to implement the things that I have learned from this course and it has been very successful for me. I’m very thankful for Premier TEFL.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO DO A LEVEL 5 COURSE AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PREMIER TEFL?
I chose to do a Level 5 course because it had different useful lessons that could help me become an overall amazing ESL teacher. The reason I chose Premier TEFL is the result of the amazing reviews I saw online which convinced me to enroll in the course.
WHAT IS THE JOB MARKET LIKE IN SPAIN? WHAT ARE YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TEACH IN SPAIN?
The Job market is quite competitive here in Spain, especially in Madrid but if you have good communication skills and a willingness to improve yourself on a daily basis, then you will be fine. The goal is to keep recreating yourself in order to have a successful career in teaching. At last, having a TEFL certificate can put you ahead of your competition.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR SOMEONE ON THE FENCE ABOUT WHETHER TO TEACH ABROAD OR ONLINE?
Deciding between teaching abroad or online depends on personal preferences and circumstances. Teaching abroad offers a chance to experience a new culture and travel, but may require a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. Teaching online offers flexibility, but may be limited to one-on-one tutoring or small-group teaching. The income potential varies for both options, with higher-paying jobs more common abroad, and online teaching lucrative for those who build a strong client base. Professional development opportunities also differ, with jobs abroad offering cross-cultural communication skill development and language learning while online jobs offer networking and training programs. Ultimately, it’s up to the individual to decide which option aligns with their lifestyle, teaching style, schedule, income goals, and professional development needs. Trying both options is also an option to see which one is the best fit.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE AS A TEACHER ABROAD?
It has been a beautiful journey teaching abroad, I met so many amazing people here personally and professionally. The most amazing feeling was connecting with students and getting to know them personally. The students were so eager to learn about different cultures. When I showed them my culture through different presentations they were so awe-struck because it was completely different for them. I made so many different presentations for them on different interesting topics which they enjoyed the most and had the best time in the whole school semester. I also traveled a lot these years in Spain and in Europe, getting to know different cultures and exploring them. I had the best time. These years have been the best years of my life.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR AMAN? CONTINUE DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING OR CHANGE IT UP?
My goal is to be an entrepreneur so after I come back from school I will keep working on my passion. In the short run, I may continue teaching as an ESL teacher but in the long run, I will shift my profession to entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, I’m going to keep on traveling, exploring Europe, and keep on enjoying the journey. For me, there is no destination, the journey is everything 🙂
