Your Trip Itinerary
On arrival, either your host family or school liaison will pick you up and take you to your new home (or you may travel by public transport and your host family will meet you at the station).
Beyond delightful icebreakers, local school induction is your chance to get the real inside scoop on teaching in Spain from the experts!
Your school liaison will review your teaching schedule, uncover the do’s and dont’s of the local culture and placement, and nail down transport and logistics.
Get to know your fellow teachers, daydream weekend trips to take, and start your experience in Spain with a full heart and mind.
Your teaching experience
It’s time to get into the classroom! You’ll be confident after already completing 150 hours of online TEFL training.
You’ll be teaching students ranging in age from young learners to eighteen with mixed English ability, giving you an incredible first-time teaching experience.
Your work week will vary according to your schedule of school classes, around 20 hours total of work — leaving plenty of time for lesson planning and some hours dedicated to helping your host family learn English.
Your goal will be focused on conversational English practice, helping your eager students to feel confident as they develop their skills. You’ll also be a proud ambassador for your home country, sharing your language and culture is a big part of this placement both at school and with your Spanish host family.
You’ll be able to ask advice from local teaching colleagues but don’t forget to bring your own creativity and ideas into the classroom, this is your chance to shine.
On days off and with newfound friends, will have a long list of sightseeing and travel plans. Your host family will help you to discover all the best bits of of Catalonia that you won’t find in guidebook.

How much spending money do I need to bring?
You should budget to have enough spending money to cover your basic living expenses and for socializing.
Since your housing, utilities, WiFi and transport to school are provided, bringing savings of €250 – €350 per month will give you a comfortable lifestyle.
What's included in my TEFL training?
You will complete three elements in your TEFL training:

– 30 hour Teaching Young Learners micro credential
– On-Demand Video Mindfulness & Yoga for Early Educators course
Also included is a short Spanish culture course (online) designed for teachers abroad.

Can I stay longer in Spain?
This depends on your nationality. If you wanted to stay in Spain on a more full time basis you will need to obtain Spanish residency and the correct legal paperwork to do so.
How do I get my completion bonus?
All qualifying participants will receive their bonus from Premier TEFL after their placement has been successfully completed.
