On your arrival you will be picked up at the airport before being spending your first week on teachers orientation. Teacher training

Before you start your exciting new life in China, you’ll be completely prepared for your adventures as a TEFL teacher by taking our 240 hour TEFL Expert Course. Including five professional courses; not only will you be a fully qualified TEFL teacher, and be licensed to prepare students for the important IELTS and TOEIC tests. You’ll specialize in Teaching Business English and Teaching Young Learners to top off your training package. Once enrolled, you can apply for this paid TEFL job.

We also welcome applicants having completed a comprehensive TEFL course with another internationally recognized provider.

TEFL job requirements

  • Aged between 20 to 50
  • Native English speaker
  • Passport holder from USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or South Africa
  • Bachelor’s degree education or higher
  • Hold a TEFL or TESOL Certificate
  • Available for one full academic year (10 months)
  • Have dedication, cultural flexibility, organization, respect, creativity, enthusiasm and professionalism.

How it works

Before you go, you’ll have an application form to fill out, a video chat, submit all your documents and then you’ll be on your way.

Getting there

On arrival, you’ll be met by our in-country team at the airport and transferred to the week-long orientation venue.

What do you need to organize?

  • International flights: You’ll need return flights.
  • Police check: Need to have police clearance
  • Budget: You’ll need to cover costs for your first month before you get paid.
  • Travel insurance: this is really important – don’t forget to sort yours before you travel!
  • Vaccines: Consult your local doctor for advice

Your teaching experience

Placements vary from primary to university level in a selection of the best international schools in the province, enjoying weekends and public holidays off.

Through 15 hours face-to-face teaching in school classroom settings each week, you will be aiming to improve your students’ listening and speaking skills. During this full-time teaching role you’ll afford plenty of lesson preparation time during your 35 hour working week. Any support you need will be on hand from your teaching colleagues.


After you settle in, you will spend the academic year teaching in one of a variety of locations such as:

  • Guangyuan, Nanchong, Bazhong, Dazhou, Ya’an, Deyang,
  • Suining, Guang’an, Meishan, Ziyang, Leshan, Neijiang,
  • Zigong, Yibin and many more

Outside the classroom

For life outside of the classroom, you have to opportunity to discover real Chinese hospitality in the heart of Western China. You can’t visit China without participating in the camaraderie of a Chinese tea ceremony; long pots are common and often used in performances across the region in busy tea houses. Sample some local cuisine and the adventurous and indulge in delicacies such as century eggs, washed down with bubble milk. Try soaking up the history of the Qing Dynasty, or see the world’s largest Buddha statue.


With between RMB¥7,000-10,000 (US$1,090-$1560/€940-€1,350/£825-£1,175) monthly salary & RMB¥8,000 (US$1260/€1050/£920) flight contribution upon completion, free accommodation throughout your teaching contract, you are totally set to enjoy your time and be very comfortable while traveling in your spare time.
