Your Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Getting there

All qualified applicants will fly into Bangkok airport (BKK) where you’ll be picked up by our in-country team.

Day 2-4

Orientation

Our Zoom orientation will help you to prepare for your exciting new life in Thailand before you touch down.

Then full onsite induction on arrival will last around 3 days.

During orientation, you will learn about Thai culture, language and society, while forming friendships with other teachers. Previous interns spend free time exploring cultural landmarks and sampling some tasty local dishes.

Day 5-134

Your teaching experience

It’s time to get into the classroom! You’ll be teaching learners ranging in age from 5 – 18 years old with mixed English ability, giving you an incredible first-time teaching experience. You can expect around 25 hours of hands-on teaching per week, plus some time to plan lessons following the in-house curriculum.

Your goal as an intern English teacher will be focused on conversational English practice, helping your eager students to feel confident as they develop their skills. You’ll be able to ask advice from local teaching colleagues but don’t forget to bring your own creativity and ideas into the classroom, this is your chance to shine!

With weekends off and a great salary to enjoy, you will have a long list of sightseeing and travel plans. Book a boat trip, visit an ancient temple and grab an ice-cold mango smoothie with new friends. Prepare to check off a few amazing bucket list items!

Day 135

After your internship

Congratulations, you did it! Make sure to celebrate this achievement. It’s time to decide if you’d like to see more of Asia, traveling or teaching (or both).

You might decide to extend your stay in Thailand and teach for another semester. The possibilities are endless for you now as a confident and experienced TEFL teacher.

    Thailand

Buzzing Bangkok is worth a deeper look. Forego Khao San chaos for a ride along the Khlong Saen Saep to the city’s older neighborhoods.

    Food

Hit up the 7/11 for foodie fun. Banana marshmallows, strawberry milkshake potato chips, fried chicken skin, milk in a can. It’s fun. And definitely weird.

    Activity

If you're teaching in the fall, you’ll love Loy Kratong, the “Festival of Lights.” Floating candles are sent down waterways to honor the river goddess.

    Questions and Answers

Can I stay for longer than 4.5 months?

Yes! There are two semesters, approximately 4 months long, in the Thai academic year running May to Aug and November to February.

Many teachers who begin in May, use the time to travel in between semesters and then extend their contract to teach for a second semester.
