Your Teaching Experience

What if we told you you could feel at home abroad, be laughing with your new Brazilian amigos, and in the thick of planning your next adventures (based on their hyper-local recommendations, of course)—all within a week?

Start your four-month TEFL internship in Brazil with our orientation, focused on local customs, culture, and the inside scoop on what it’s like teaching in Brazil.

On arrival in São Paulo, you’ll be introduced to your homestay family and launched headfirst into your work, supporting non-affluent Brazilians on their mission to improve their future prospects through English.

You’ll be placed in a certified B corporation with ambitious social goals where you’ll teach beginners English to students from primary level up to age 30+.

Expect to teach Monday-Saturday for ~30 hours weekly, setting strong foundations for these new English learners and inspiring them to want to learn more!

Cultural Excursions

Wondering what you’re going to do with your precious free time? We’re glad you asked! We know your adventure bucket list is long, but make sure you tack these recommendations from past TEFL interns in Brazil towards the top!

Rio de Janeiro

Samba originated in Rio's 1000’s of favelas (slums), where former African slaves and their descendants created the musical style. Attend Carnaval if you can!

Mouth-watering Romeu & Julieta, a guava-jelly & cheese combo, can be found just about anywhere—empanadas, on toast, as cheesecake, or even on pizza. Yes, pizza!

After seeing the planet’s largest river, tall waterfalls, & uncharted jungle, enjoy a little-known spot, Escadaria Selarón—the world’s most beautiful staircase.

Since Brazil has much lower living costs compared to Western standards, your monthly living allowance of 1100 Brazilian Real (BRL) will afford you a comfortable social life. From your allowance, 300 Brazilian Real (BRL) (US$90/€75/£66) is deducted monthly for housing.

When budgeting your money, remember you’ll be placed in a homestay with a local family.
