Did you ever think you could travel to Poland for free? Now, with the Anglo-TEFL Scholarship, you have the chance to complete a TEFL course and get experience working in a real classroom with adults or kids. You have the option to complete two or three courses, totaling 250 and 310 hours respectively, to become a fully TEFL certified teacher.

Course Outline

Our primary aim is to give you the best possible TEFL experience. Using our 25 years of knowledge in the field, we were able to devise a program that will make you an effective and efficient EFL teacher. The first 120 hours of the course are spent studying our program, complete with full TEFL accreditation.

Depending if you chose two or three courses, you will then have either 130 or 200 hours of observed teaching practice afterwards. This is an important part of the course we offer, because the teachers provide you with constructive criticisms of what you did wrong, and explain what you did right. On completion of our course you will be presented with your TEFL certificate.

In the flooded market of TEFL jobs, we want to put you head and shoulders above the competition, and arm you with enough know-how to succeed, wherever you plan on teaching. The requirements to apply for this course are not strict; you have to be a native English speaker, over the age of 18, are enthusiastic, outgoing, and ready to experience new cultures. Does it sound like you fit the description?

Applying for our Anglo-TEFL Scholarship

When applying for the scholarship you will be asked to pay a £50 deposit. This will be returned to you when you finish the program, minus a £19 administration fee. Once the deposit has been paid, you will progress to a short online questionnaire. At the same time, your sponsored TEFL course will begin.

Your profile will be reviewed by our partners Angloville and you will be notified within three working days whether you’ve been accepted to teach abroad. For successful applicants, Angloville will confirm the dates you have chosen and ask you to provide travel details for the city you will have your first session in. You will have to arrange and pay for your own flights. Unsuccessful applicants can continue the course regardless and become TEFL certified for no extra charge, or request a refund of the deposit.

When you arrive in your chosen city, you will be greeted at the airport and brought to your hotel accommodation. As part of your scholarship program, you will be given three meals a day and a complimentary tour of the local area. The tour will acquaint you with your surroundings, engage you with local culture and help you make friends on arrival.

We have a selection of TEFL internships in Poland; our host cities of Poznań, Warsaw, Wrocław and Kraków have different types of programs available in each of these destinations. The three programs: Angloville Adult teaches adults, Angloville Junior teaches kids ranged from 13-18 years, and finally, only available in Warsaw, Angloville Kids teaches children aged 7-11.

My Experience in Kraków

I spent a weekend in Kraków during my Erasmus exchange to the Netherlands. Arriving on the Friday, we booked in to our hostel located a few brief minutes from the Old Town. Atlantis Hostel was a perfect place to stay for us as it had spacious, comfortable rooms and we were fortunate enough to be in only one of two apartments on the first floor that had access to a balcony overlooking the road.

The first evening we walked to the castle and took photos there. A magnificent building, it took us a couple of hours to walk around enjoy all the views. From there we headed toward the Old Town to soak up the ambience and get food at the market. The next day, we were able to book a return shuttle bus (€25 incl. bus and entry to the camp) from our hostel to Auschwitz-Birkenau, situated about an hour and a half away from the city.

The day we arrived was a public holiday so the tour guide told us it was busier than usual, but we didn’t think the experience was lessened by the crowd – we all thought it was very manageable. Trying to absorb the all horrors of the day we returned to Kraków on the bus and relaxed at the hostel for a few hours. I would highly recommend everybody go to the camp once in their lives.

That evening we headed towards the Jewish Quarter, where we stopped at a lovely outdoor BBQ serving traditional Polish food. If you find the stall, be sure to get the local delicacy; camembert pierogis. Delicious food in a lovely setting, the site of the food stand is also only about 50 metres from the coolest bar we went to on our travels. Alchemia was a bar we passed during the day and visited at night. Initially, the bar seemed quite small, but a wardrobe on the left hand-side as you walked presented a Narnia-like situation. Step through the doors of the wardrobe and you would enter a large room full of people conversing and drinking, with another room added onto that.

There is so much to do in this wonderful city and this is not just the case for Kraków. Poznań, Warsaw and Wrocław are all steeped in history and have lots of contemporary places to socialize in. The cost of living in Poland is still relatively cheap, and the country is filled with warm, friendly, welcoming people.

If you are still unsure what you can gain from an Anglo-TEFL Scholarship, watch our video testimonials from people who have gone and spoke about their experience. You can also read Jordan’s blog where he speaks about how the Anglo-TEFL Scholarship helped him land a full-time TEFL job in Kraków.

This is a fantastic opportunity on offer, all for free. You could use our Anglo-TEFL Scholarship as a launchpad if you wish to continue as an EFL teacher afterwards, or if you are just seeking a richly rewarding experience. After our scholarship program, you will be fully TEFL certified, have practical work experience under your belt, and be prepared to teach the world over. Happy travels!
