Demand for TEFL Teachers and Private Tutors

English teachers are required in public school classrooms and private language schools. Rome, Florence, Milan, Naples are the most common cities for TEFL teaching. There is medium to high demand for private TEFL and many people are searching for English speakers for conversation lessons. Business English is very popular to take in larger industrial and trade cities.


Travel and Professional Requirements for Teaching

A Bachelor’s Degree and TESOL/TESL/TEFL Certificate is required to teach in public and private schools with previous teaching experience also being a requirement. Non EU citizens will require a Visa while EU citizens often receive preference from public schools. Some schools offer Visa support.

Expected Teaching Contract

Contracts often run over 1 year or less. People are being sought to teach business professionals, children at summer camps, private lessons for conversation.
